It’s so easy to be weighed down by guilt, regret. The devil has a way of encouraging us to do wrong, and when we fall, make us feel filthy about it. Now the question is, how do I embrace what God says about me when the devil tries to bring up my past.

- Get in the word, confess the word. It’s easy to read the Bible and not gain anything. We are to “mediate” on the word of God. Live out the word of God in your life. You will probably be like Bolu, that’s too much. It’s not, because most Christians are so ignorant of the devil’s vices and forget the power we have in us- the Holy Spirit. The word of God has so much power.
- If you don’t read it, you will not grow. No matter how many youtube testimonies and sermons you watch, if you don’t read the word yourself, you will keep living off other peoples experiences of Him. But when you get in the word, it builds intimacy. The word of God is God. You can’t skip that. That’s God’s love letter to us His children. The word of God is the best daily affirmations you can get. The world has so many affirmations and “do you’s” for your happiness, but like I always say God’s standards can’t change and at first “doing you” might bring temporary happiness but it doesn’t last, never lasts.

- Another thing is never to compare your former carnal self to your present self, never say when I was in the world; I know what I would have done. It’s foolishness. Look at who God has called you to be. God is the utmost perfection. So if you want to do an evaluation do it based on who God has called you to be and not be relaxed because last year you were this and this and this new year you are that and that by Tosin Alabi.
- Remember that who the Son sets free is free indeed. Live free, live free. Even when the world tries to remind you of your past, choose to live free of what God says about you. That you are a new creature in Christ Jesus, that God has put a new spirit within you and if you don’t believe me, it’s in the Bible all you have to do is read it.
Now I am not trying to say we won’t remember but when we do remember, we choose to forgive ourselves because Christ has forgiven us, when we confessed our sins.
The more we spend time with Jesus, the more we reflect Him, so if you don’t want the guilt, the devil brings, live free in the boundaries Jesus gives.
Remember you are truly loved by God, His love for us is more than we can ever fathom, if we couldn’t earn the love of God, how can we do something to lose the love of God.
